The Brobecks:
Named after a phantom person at Dallon’s school with the last name of “Brobeck”. There was speculation that this person did not even exist. Thus, a “Brobeck” is like an anonymous person who no one really knows much about.

History:
The Brobecks first self released album “Understanding the Brobecks” in 2003 and then second self released album in 2005, “Happiest Nuclear Winter” was recorded, with band members Dallon Weekes, Matt Glass, Bryan Szymanski, and Mike Gross. After its release, The Brobecks began to tour and did so for two years before Matt Glass and Bryan Szymanski left the group to pursue their college educations and were replaced with Nate Leslie and Dave Chisholm. It was during this line-ups existence that the band recorded and released “Goodnight and Have a Pleasant Tomorrow”.
After two years of more successful touring, dissatisfaction, personalities clashing in the line-up and countless labels advising The Brobecks to consist of one main frontman, Dallon made an important career change for The Brobecks. Weekes took the role as the solo frontman and songwriter, continued his group as a three-piece, and for the first time began writing more guitar oriented songs (The Small Cuts EP). He replaced the members a few more times until the current line-up was set which is, Josh Rheault (keys/guitar/vocals), Connor Doyle (guitar/vocals), and Tim Very (Drums/vocals).

In 2008, Weekes recorded tracks with Producer Casey Crescenzo of the band The Dear Hunter. From this, the single “Second Boys will Be First Choice” was added to the regular daily rotation of Salt Lake City radio station X96 (KXRK), something which had never been done with an unsigned act in the stations 20 plus year history. Also recently the song ‘Love at First Sight’(From the forthcoming Ep.) debuted at #8 on x96’s Top Ten daily songs list.

These tracks- “Second Boys Will Be First Choice”, and “Love at First Sight”, as well as few older songs remixed and more new songs on the album ”Violent Things” are available NOW. This is the bands first official studio release.
